A few words on meditation from business leaders:

And you can’t imagine what has happened in the company. People who used to have migraines, don’t. People are sleeping better. People have better relationships. It’s simply fantastic.

Oprah Winfrey, The Oprah Show

Stress-reduction and mindfulness don't just make us happier and healthier, they're a proven competitive advantage for any business that wants one

Arianna Huffington, Huffington Post

Meditation more than anything in my life was the biggest ingredient of whatever success I’ve had

Ray Dalio, Bridgewater Associates

For me, it's a practice that not only burns off stress but gives me fresh eyes to clarify what's really going on at work and what really matters.

Some common questions...

  • q-iconWhat is meditation?

Meditation can mean different things to different people.

One way to look at meditation is that it is to focus one’s mind for a period of time to help heal the mind and body through relaxation.

It is about being in the present moment and being in tune with your own thoughts and emotions.

Your employees can think of it as their own little piece of “me time” in the office each day. They can take a step back from any pressures of work and just focus on themselves. Leaving them in a great mental space to be able to refocus on work once a meditation is finished.

  • q-iconHow to incorporate meditation at work?

Our recommendation is to promote a meditation program as a health and wellbeing initiative of the organisation, with the same 10-15 minute time each day devoted to meditation for those employees that wish to take advantage of the program.

The time can be one that suits the workflows of your business. Whether it’s first thing in the morning, just before lunch or mid-afternoon. Whatever works best for you.

Employees will have a new guided meditation audio file emailed to them each week which will step them through the meditation process. You could listen to the meditations as a group or just listen with headphones at your individual computers.

  • q-iconHow long until you see results?

That will vary from person to person. Some employees will feel great after their very first meditation. Others will take longer to get comfortable with a meditation practice.

If you and your employees meditate daily, you are likely to notice a change in the atmosphere of the office after 2-3 weeks. This could be as simple as having a small amount of stress lifted off the shoulders to noticeable productivity gains. Every individual and workplace will be different.

The meditation and wellness sessions you get as part of the program are also great opportunities to learn more on how to get the most out of your meditation practice.

A brief guide to the first 3 meditations for the curious ones...

  • q-iconWhat can I expect from the Week 1 meditation?

Each of the first 3 meditations go for around 10 minutes with this first one focusing on breathing and the feelings of the body. It is very natural for your mind to wander when you start to meditate and the guided meditation will help you with this.

  • q-iconWhat can I expect from the Week 2 meditation?

Another 10 minute meditation that continues with the breathing and body focus but also introduces the awareness of sounds and the environment around you while you meditate. As with meditation one, it has a focus on being in the present moment.

  • q-iconWhat can I expect from the Week 3 meditation?

The week 3 mediation is once again 10 minutes and is a little different to the first two meditations. It introduces a short visualisation exercise that helps to create the picture and feeling of where you are at your most relaxed.
